Green Hydrogen Technology gains Robert Nave as CEO

  • Start-up produces green hydrogen cost-effectively using climate-neutral technology
  • Company gears up management for market entry: Next milestone after successful start-up of first plant
  • Robert Nave: “The innovative technology has great market potential to make a decisive contribution to the decarbonization of various industries. ”

Robert Nave joins Green Hydrogen Technology GmbH (GHT) as the new CEO. The company has developed an innovative technology that produces green hydrogen using sewage sludge, plastic or wood waste. With GHT technology, municipalities, energy suppliers and industry can produce green hydrogen on an industrial scale from locally available, inexpensive raw materials and market it competitively.

Robert Nave comes from the corporate and strategy consultancy McKinsey, where he most recently worked as a junior partner. There, the graduate in business administration and former J.P. Morgan investment banker assisted companies in green transformation processes and decarbonization programs, among other things. One focus was on energy transition strategies and the future supply of hydrogen. Nave is convinced of the market potential of GHT technology: “For the first time, green hydrogen can be produced locally cost-effectively and from waste materials. This opens up great opportunities for the municipal economy, which generally has sewage sludge and plastic waste, as well as for energy suppliers and industrial companies that want to market green hydrogen or use it for production. ”

With Naves' appointment, the company, founded in 2020, is preparing for market entry.

“With Robert Nave, we were able to attract a proven energy specialist and market expert, which means that we achieved the second coup within a short period of time,” says GHT founder Harald Mayer. “We have provided proof of the industrial use of our process. It is now a matter of getting the technology on the roads in Germany, Europe and worldwide.” GHT commissioned an industrial-scale pilot plant in November 2022, which demonstrates the technical feasibility of the process.

The company's management is supported by an experienced advisory board. In addition to former McKinsey senior partner Dr. Philipp Härle, Dr. Matthias Fritton, consultant at Spencer Stuart and Dr. Dietrich Birk, former State Secretary and Managing Director of the VDMA Baden-Württemberg, are members of the committee.

“GHT technology will make an important contribution to meeting the enormously growing demand for hydrogen in industry,” says Philipp Härle, Chairman of the Advisory Board, “With his hands-on mentality and expertise, Robert Nave will set the course so that GHT plays a significant role in shaping the future of the energy market. ”
